Estimate Energy Costs.

This feature for customers allows them to look up local addresses to view the average energy use costs to get an idea of utility bills if they're thinking of moving. We had our developers simplify the code-based form to just one field for address lookup. I redesigned the page layout to be less cluttered and more visually appealing.
The problem:
The original form functioned with a City drop-down field that would sometimes produce misspelled city names and would cause the search function to not work properly. The page itself was also text-heavy and cluttered.
The solution:
Our developers simplified down to just the one address field. This removed the inaccuracies from the city field data and allowed our users to more quickly enter their desired address. I also chunked out the content and gave it some visual hierarchy. By placing the search hints/tips in the accordions, I also saved space and cleaned up the overall look of the page.
