Have a seat &
get to know me.

Origin story.

I'm 38 (shout-out to my fellow elder millennials) and I was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I moved down to Madison for school at Madison College in 2006 for the Visual Communications program and have been here ever since. I graduated in 2010 with my Associate of Arts.

Career.

In my work life, I started out in the public library world as a Page, then moved into the admin space as a Receptionist/Administrative Associate, progressed into the print and mail room industry, dabbled in some desktop publishing, and finally ended up in my first web/UX role after I had gone back to school in 2013 and graduated in 2016 from Full Sail University with my Bachelor of Science in Web Design and Development.

Why work with me?

Short: Because I really, truly care about bringing the human aspect into the world of design.

Long: Over the last nine years in my UX role, I have developed and honed my skills, found myself as a designer, but most importantly, I have greatly deepened my level of empathy. My empathy for users, customers, patrons, visitors, and humans overall. To work in UX is to place yourself in others' shoes, to reach out to as many different people as possible, to be eager to understand the struggles and pain points of others, to help improve and expand on the digital experience of your sites and applications. You can be the most incredible designer or artist in the world and you can have the absolute best and most efficient skill set out there, but it means absolutely nothing if you have no real empathy for your users.

Finally, the fluff.

When I'm not working, I can be found curled up in my oversized chaise with a good romantasy, listening to music, grabbing drinks and playing games with friends, or playing and cuddling with my cats. I also love to travel when I'm privileged enough to be able to so I can experience different cultures, environments, and scenery. I am a fan of Sci-Fi and fantasy TV shows and movies. My favorite season is Fall--nothing compares.
